Global Entrepreneurship Week –  Held in Bridgend with Bridgend Business Forum on 21st November 2013

Are you brave enough to enter the Dragons’ lair?

The theme of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2013 is ‘take a step forward’.
With this in mind, the Bridgend Business Forum will be working in partnership with Business in Focus and Cherryblue Training Ltd to host a business event on Thursday 21 November 2013, targeting anyone who currently runs their own enterprise or anyone keen to develop a business idea.  The forum is also seeking individuals who are willing to take the step forward to pitch their business ideas to a panel of experts in a ‘Dragon’s Den-style’ slot.
Whether you are in business or have a business idea which you are passionate about, we want to hear from you. Send your proposal to and a shortlist will be drawn up. The best proposals will be invited to pitch to experts on the day. Prizes will include free mentoring sessions from members of the panel.
A key highlight at the event will be a talk from special guest; Dale Williams, owner of Cardiff-based, Yolk Recruitment Ltd. Considered a future serial entrepreneur, Dale currently owns a property maintenance company and is a business partner in a social enterprise company alongside Yolk. He is also in the process of launching an FMCG food and drinks brand among other projects.
Dale has been seen more recently showing off his culinary skills on the popular BBC’s ‘MasterChef’ programme, where he fought off stiff competition to make it to the finals.
With a passion for young entrepreneurship, Dale is heavily involved in turning ideas into reality by assisting those with business plans and ideas to realise their potential through his social enterprise company. He has also agreed to sit on the judging panel.
There will also be an opportunity to attend a selection of business seminars and presentations covering essential topics for any business; including funding, business planning, marketing, sales and making networking work for you.
Global Entrepreneurship Week (18 -24 November 2013) is the world’s largest campaign to promote entrepreneurship.
Alison Hoy, Chair of the Bridgend Business Forum said: “GEW is all about encouraging the next generation of entrepreneurs, nurturing business ideas and inspiring people to realise their full potential. This event is the perfect platform to access a wealth of useful information and advice, with the unique opportunity to pitch your idea to a panel of business experts.”

Well done Linda!

Cherryblue is pleased to announce that Linda recently won the Female Entrepreneur Award in the South Wales Business Awards for 2012. – Recognising Welsh Business Success.

In Wales, we have a huge number of highly successful businesses and business people, who even during the most difficult of economic periods have thrived.

As such, we feel they should be given every opportunity to highlight their achievements and successes, which is why the awards have been created.

The awards, since their 2008 launch have quickly become the must attend event of the South Wales business calendar. In 2012, many local business people were in attendance at the Bear Hotel in Cowbridge, to enjoy a hugely successful evening.

Linda would like to thank all those that have sent and expressed their congratulations on this achievement and is looking forward to helping to promote these Awards to everyone in South Wales who potentially deserve recognition for all their achievements in business.
